The 17-year-old basketball talent Samuel Sooleyman comes from South Sudan, a country torn apart by civil war. One day he gets the chance of a lifetime: he is allowed to travel to the USA with a national youth team and take part in a show tournament. Talent scouts take notice of him, but then he receives terrible news from home. His village has been attacked and his family is on the run. Only by forcing success in America can he save them.
