Could have come otherwise, knows Gregor Meyle, who celebrates his 40th birthday this year and looks back with humility on the ups and downs of his life back. In doing so, he gratefully and optimistically goes to work and undertakes a musical journey around the world, inspired by all the music that Meyle likes to hear privately and that always inspires him to try out new things. Sometimes a bit of Cuban sounds or it gets jazzy when pianist Chip Crawford and bassist Jahmal Nichols, known from Gregory Porter’s band, play. But the strong Gregor Meyle ballads and his charming pop songs are not missing. The expressive voice and a very personal view of the world packed in texts and sounds complete Meyles sixth recordings. By the way, by now he did not just catch the Sing my Song Band for his live performances, but also the album has developed in close contact with the musicians he has been on stage with for years. New addition is producer Matthias Grosch, who arranged the 300 songs in all seasons of the show so special. The result is a versatile album that Meyle himself says: We have taken on musical challenges together and embarked on an adventure free from any restrictions.
