From April 24th on Tuesdays at 8.15 pm the fifth exchange concert season will be continued at VOX. Mark Forster, who was a guest in 2017, returns to South Africa with six top-class musicians.
Not only did he convince with his musical ability last year, but with his reinterpretations he delivered the “song of the evening” three times, but already proved his host qualities in the evening of “The BossHoss”. Now, the popular “hit-monster”, as he was lovingly called by his peers, leads the exchange concert with new artists. Whether pop icon Mary Roos, Irish singer-songwriter Rea Garvey, Judith Holofernes, frontwoman of “We’re Heroes” and now on solo paths, soul-pop singer Leslie Clio, “Gunslinger” lead singer Johannes Strate or “Alphaville” World Star Marian Gold – the audience can be curious to see what new hits and earwigs emerge in the hit show.
Absolutely new: The fifth season will see a further expansion of the diversity of musical genres, because for the very first time the hit will be represented. How will Mary Roos evergreens sound from the mouth of Marian Gold or Rea Garvey? Who dares to participate in the massively covered “Alphaville” hit “Forever young”
and thus has a huge drop height? What will the songwriters say when Judith Holofernes will present not only musically but also textually one or two reinterpretations? And which artists can surprise the most, that they are open to all genres? In any case, the motto will come true again since the beginning, because you have never heard of these artists before.
Accompanying the show, the album “Sing my Song – The Exchange Concert Vol. 5” will be released on May 11, 2018 in stores and on all streaming platforms. The music label of the media group RTL, Music for Millions, releases the longplayer in two CD variants. As a deluxe 2-CD edition with all 42 swap songs
and as a shortened 1-CD version with 14 songs, as well as download and streaming.
“The new WhatsApp group of colleagues is already glowing”, as Mark Forster states with pleasure. And Mary Roos is also looking forward to “the best music show I can imagine as an artist”. Rea Garvey, on the other hand, is sure that “learning someone else’s text and sometimes even my second language German will push me to my limits”. For Judith Holofernes, who likes to hear cover versions, is already certain
“Sing my song is basically my perfect party” and Leslie Clio confesses “when I hear hits,
my inner child is happy “. Marian Gold hopes that the time in South Africa will be “a lasting and wonderful experience” and knows what must not be missed in the evenings “warm underwear, after all, what you hear.”
And Johannes Strate is already thinking of “a group of great musicians who have a lot of fun together.”
