Es ist wieder Gründerzeit alles ist machbar, möglich! Produzent und Scratch-Poet Billy Davis schwärmt. In den Fluren der Studios in Mannheim weht ein frischer Wind. Auf dem festen Stand von 20 Jahre Bandgeschichte muss man anderen nichts mehr beweisen, nur noch sich selbst. Die Stimmung ist vertraut, doch zeigen sich die Stärken der Band in neuem Licht: Die Vielfalt an Musik an Meinungen war seit jeher feste Bestandteil der Söhne Mannheims. Zwischen Aufbruch und neuer Gelassenheit Jungspunde wie Drummer Jonny König beleben mit eigenen Song-Ideen, der Erfolgsproduzent Alex Christensen (Coldplay, Tom Jones, Helene Fischer) verstärkt das Produzententeam und hilft dabei, den Songs ein erneuertes Sound-Gewand zu geben, Xavier Naidoo hat sich hingegen schon mal die Zeit genommen, um für ein Lied, das ihn über ein Jahrzehnt begleitete, den Text reifen zu lassen. Da muss man manchmal 14 Jahre warten, bis einem die nächste Strophe einfällt , erklärt der Sänger gelassen. Das Album MannHeim

Aus den meisten Söhnen sind Väter geworden. Diese Erfahrung hat sie menschlich reifen lassen. Mann werden, Mensch werden, Verantwortung übernehmen, so das Credo. Der Albumtitel greift diese Idee auf. Daraus schöpfe ich , erklärt Xavier Naidoo. Mannheim, Familie und Freunde, die gemeinsame Identität bleibt ein Kraftzentrum, der eigene Kompass. Neu ist: Auf dem Album klingt ein lebensfroher Sturm und Drang durch, mehr Gegenwart zu wagen. Wir arbeiten das Hier und Jetzt in unsere Realität ein , fasst Billy die Stimmung in der Band zusammen. Was 2007 mit einer Handvoll Songs auf MySpace als kleiner Testballon in die deutsche Musiklandschaft startete, ist 2017 in den größeren Hallen des Landes angekommen. {:de}CD (VÖ 09.12.2016) Seit drei Jahren läuft die erfolgreiche Musik-Show Sing meinen Song das Tauschkonzert und hat mittlerweile auch die letzten Skeptiker überzeugt. Stetig steigende Einschaltquoten, beachtliche Albumverkäufe mit höchster Chartplatzierung sowie Auszeichnungen mit dem ECHO, dem Bambi und dem Deutschen Fernsehpreis. Als Gastgeber lud Xavier Naidoo Freunde und Kollegen ein, um ihre Songs zu tauschen und alle überraschten, nicht nur die Zuschauer, sondern auch ihre Mitmusiker. Denn der Slogan So habt ihr diese Stars noch nie gehört traf es in kurzen Worten sehr genau. Auch die dritte Staffel mit The BossHoss, Samy Deluxe, Nena, Annett Louisan, Seven, Xavier Naidoo und Wolfgang Niedecken hatte es in sich und lieferte ein Highlight nach dem anderen. Was in Südafrika begann setzt sich nun in der Almhütte in Ellmau (Österreich) fort. Traditionell treffen sich die Protagonisten dort erneut um gemeinsam Weihnachten zu feiern. Dafür haben sie sich für das beliebte Schrottwichteln auch jede Menge Hübsches einfallen lassen und ihre Songwünsche an die Kollegen dürften auch für so einige Überraschungen sorgen. So wollen The BossHoss gerne von Annett Louisan Jingle Bells hören oder Wolfgang Niedecken von Seven den Bing Crosby-Klassiker I ll be home for Christmas . Nenas Wunsch birgt Tradition, denn Ihr Kinderlein kommet soll Xavier interpretieren. Aber auch die eigenen Lieblingssongs der Stars geben diesem Abend eine ganz besondere Atmosphäre, denn Der Baron von Grinchhausen, der extra von Samy Deluxe für Nena geschrieben wurde, werden die beiden gemeinsam zum Besten geben. Für Xavier heißt es danach Abschied nehmen von dieser Musik-Show, die er von Anfang an mit viel Intuition und Charme als Gastgeber begleitet hat. Extra dafür hat er mit Mathias Grosch den Song Ein neues Jahr geschrieben, den er an diesem Abend präsentiert.{:}{:en}
